Playing the top 100 golf courses in England…

I’m One London Golfer and at the end of 2016 I’ve set myself the incredibly exciting challenge of Playing the top 100 golf courses in England..!!

Follow me on this site to see how I get on, how many I can manage and whether the challenge can be completed.

But as I sit here at the very beginning of the challenge, I’ve given myself some rules (or more like targets) which are briefly described below.

This is all about fun, playing top quality golf courses and making new friends along the way!

I can’t wait…

The Rules (loosely)

The main rules set down for the challenge are as follows:

1 – I will be playing the Top 100 golf courses as ranked by www.top100golfcourses.co.uk

2 – It is their 2015 list. Future drop outs and additions will be ignored as the list is updated.

3 – No time limit..!

Challenge set!

Top 100 golf Courses – Progress

The full progress on this challenge will be documented on the Top 100 Progress page which will be a live page updated every time a course is played. There will also be links to each top 100 golf course review in this section.

The challenge starts here… November 2016… I’m now on a journey Playing the Top 100 golf courses in England.

To date (and at the start of the challenge) I’ve played 14 courses on both lists, so an excellent place to start. Plenty of courses to play and loads of time ahead to achieve the goal.

How will I play all these Courses..?!?!

Hmmm… no idea! That’s the exciting part of the Quest. How the hell will I do this!?

First of all, I have next to zero connections in the golf world, I don’t work in the golf industry and I don’t have friends in high up places. Not the best place to start, but it is what it is.

I also don’t want to be shelling out £1,000’s on green fees Playing the Top 100 golf courses. The trick to this will be getting on some of these courses without just walking on having paid £250 for a round.

I’m obviously based in London and looking at the courses I’ve already played, the furthest away is The Belfry, not that far away at all. I need to think about this and plan some golf tours (excellent excuse to get away for a lads trip!).
